Student housing

Apartment house of Lilla Sunnersta

Lilla Sunnersta was built in 2005 and are apartments for students attending one of the universities in Uppsala.

There are a total of 220 apartments in Lilla Sunnersta. The low, "Falu red", the two-story buildings are grouped around small yards that open up to the west and south to let in sunshine and light. The area is lush green, with flourishing trees and bushes, giving a sense of idyllic country life.

The apartments are well planned and everything is new and fresh. All apartments have a small, well designed kitchenette with an oven, refrigerator and freezer. The size of the apartments varies from a small and practical bedroom with kitchenette to the somewhat more spacious three rooms and kithenette. Each apartment is equipped with a fiber optic network for computers and broadband, Up-net and Telia, and the option of receiving cable television. Up-net will expire 151231. Rent, in contrast to some student housing, is paid 12 months of the year. Living in Lilla Sunnersta offers students their own apartment with a myriad of possibilities.

For students with children, too, Lilla Sunnersta is a wonderful place to live. The area has a playground and day care and schools are close by. Families here live not only close to the university they attend, but also close to stores, health care, and other services and necessities. In addition, the bus stops right in the housing area and there are plenty of spaces for parking.

Apartment House of Gustaf Kjellbergs väg 13

This attractive building, once a mental hospital, was converted into a modern residential apartment house in the mid-1990s.

The beautiful park environment, which features full-grown oaks and rows of flowers, has largely retained its appearance from the past. The building now holds 41 student apartments, with modern standard joined with the solid building materials, generous ceiling heights, and elegant windows of the early 20th century. Good parking facilities are available, as are modern elevators, laundry rooms, Internet connections, etc.

The park called Kronparken, just south of the expansive Glunten area, is conveniently located within walking distance of central Uppsala. The beautiful natural surroundings near Fyrisån River are an ideal site for walking and enjoying nature. There are good travel communications in the area as well: easy commuter connections via Route E4 to Stockholm and beyond, and frequent buses to central Uppsala and its new Travel Centre.

Well designed walking and bicycle paths make it possible to get to central Uppsala in 10 minutes by bicycle. Day care centers and schools are situated in the neighborhood.

The Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, Glunten Science Park, the Information Technology Centre and Ångström Laboratory in Polacksbacken, BMC Biomedical Centre, and Akademiska Hospital are all within walking distance.
